January 20, 2002


CS-RCS Pro 2.0 build 192 has been released.

New features:

  • Integrated with HtmlDiff
    CS-HTMLDiff gives users the capability of making powerful comparisons between revisions of HTML, XML and MS-Word documents. (Reduced price for CS-RCS customers.)

  • Integrated with ExcelDiff
    CS-ExcelDiff is a brand new tool for users who frequently archive MS-Excel documents but never had a way of comparing versions. (Reduced price for CS-RCS customers.)

  • Compatible with German version
    You may use workstations running the English version and the German version on the same CS-RCS site.

  • CSDiff 4.0 included
    This new version of CSDiff has been greatly improved both on the performance and feature level.

  • Improved Jbuilder integration
    A new Borland JBuilder add-on is available, making all the important CS-RCS functions available from the JBuilder interface.

  • Difference analysis for DFM files
    Borland Delphi DFM files are now automatically recognized by CS-RCS.

  • Option to ignore files who's types have not been defined
    To utilize this feature, define the Default file-type as 'Ignore this type'.

  • Removal of multiple extensions
    You may now select multiple extensions in the 'File types' tab.

  • Improved support for XML reports
    Including command-line syntax, reports with non-English characters and more.

  • Additional minor features

Problems fixed:

  • Components are sometimes displayed as Undefined in the Document Explorer.
  • Files deleted on the trunk are restored whenever a branch is merged.
  • Shadow folder is updated by all branches. (Currently, it's updated by trunk only. Per-branch shadow will be supported in a future release.)
  • When a file name's case is changed, the change is not detected automatically by other workstations.
  • Error message regarding redundant setting of the TZ environment variable on Windows XP.
  • The Project | Check-in command doesn't work when a project is defined using the Local work folder feature.
  • Additional minor bugs.

CS-RCS Pro 2.0 build 185 has been released.

This is a service release that fixes the following bugs:

  • Compatibility issues while importing MS-Word files from VSS.
  • Support for directory-level labels on projects imported from VSS.
  • Support branching of component projects.
  • Fix problems related to Shadow folder updated and links.
  • Improved COM API. For more details, click here.
  • MS-Word integration macros are authenticated to ensure it is virus-free.
  • Additional minor fixes.

CS-RCS Pro 2.0 build 183 has been released.

This is a service release that fixes the following bugs:

  • Full compatibility with milestones defined by CS-RCS Pro v1.2.
  • Compatibility issues while importing certain VSS projects.
  • Redundant project scan when project is defined as component of another project.
  • Project directory issues on Samba / Windows 2000 configuration.
  • Additional minor fixes.

CS-RCS Pro 2.0 build 181 has been released.

This is a service release that fixes the following bugs:

  • Out of Memory error while importing certain VSS projects.
  • Problems in launching the CS Administrator.
  • Additional minor fixes.

This version supports integration with MATLAB 6.1 and Keil Compilers as well.

CS-RCS Pro 2.0 build 180 has been released.

This is a service release that fixes the following bugs:

  • Project update error message on Windows 98/Me.
  • Corrupted  messages after using the Define project / Edit project commands in the Document Explorer.
  • Additional minor fixes.

CS-RCS Pro 2.0 has been released. (A major release of the basic edition is expected in April.)

New features of this release: (full details)

  • Analysis and reports of changes made between any two milestones.
  • Advanced system-wide reports including: column selection, filters, hyper-link reports and XML reports.
  • Improved revision management for MS-Word documents, including automatic reporting of the RCS version in the MS-Word document pages.
  • Import of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (VSS) projects.
  • Functionality to search documents by specifying any text in the document description, check-in comments or body.
  • Project "Shadow" folder for reference. This folder is automatically updated whenever a new revision is checked-in to the repository.
  • Right-click menu operations in the Document Explorer tree.
  • The Project Check-in command scans the working folders and suggests adding new files to the Repository.
  • Ability to define file-type viewer, difference analysis tools and merge analysis tools. This definition is done system-wide and per workstation.
  • Additional minor features and problems fixes.
